Montreal and Quebec City 2005---great times :D
I'll start off my first ever LJ entry by saying that I got more out of this trip than I could have ever imagined....
First off, I hung out mostly with Madeline, Gina, Lucy, Dora, Jordana, Malika (aka Meeka now, haha :D) and Shalini...the 8 of us had an absolute blast and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves :D...
Quebec City and Montreal were pretty good cities and quite different from what one would expect (the Burger King sign at QC was aurous!)...we went to all sorts of French-Canadian restaurants and celebrated someone's birthday at practically every meal!
We had a really superb tour guide in Francois...he was really nice and quite funny...there were constant discussions amongst us about him and Mlle. Bilodeau having something going, haha.....but he was fun to have around ("okey dokie!"...."karaoke!!")....I'm definitely going to miss his colourful personality....
Here is my trip in chronological order
On Wednesday we went to Montreal and did some underground shopping and had a meal at an ultra-branché French restuarant.....on Thursday morning, we had breakfast at the Hard Rock Café, went to Quebec City and stopped on our way at this dog sledding track....where Madeline fell off her sled while riding with Lucy (seeing Lucy shout "breaks!" with nobody behind her was priceless :D)...soon after, Jan's sled completely turns on its side and before she knows it, she's riding the sled sideways!
Anyways, after that we went to our horse riding (aka calèche) with Lucy, Shalini and Dora in the same carriage as me. Whilst riding, this random fellow probably in his 50s jumps onto our coach and asks me which one of the girls was my girlfriend! We all thought that this fellow was either drunk or some sort of child molester! It turned out that he was a friend of the rider, Claude....a real freak incident..but after that we went to have drink of hot chocolate and I got to tell the girls a story about a past experience in my life....after that we went to our rooms and played a few games there :D...
On Friday we went to the Chutes Montmorency (the tallest falls in North America...even taller than Niagara, but certainly not as long) and went to the mall to watch Miss Personalitie 2 (Miss Congeniality 2) in French...which was alright (Josh understood the quite a bit of what happened....I understood enough to get some of the laughs and the story...but didn't get the whole plot, haha)...so after that, Dora Malika and I go around the mall to look for a belt (my pants were falling off!), so we finally arrived at Sears (of all places!) and spoke to this lady in broken french (we forgot the word for belt!)...after Malika speaks in full fledge English, we get the belt...but then arose problem of wearing it! I didn't know where to wear it (we were outside the store and I wasn't going to walk 1/2 way back to Sears to wear it!)...so we then try to look for a shop that I knew sold rugby shirts and after 15 minutes, find it...then came the problem, which team to get! I decide on South Africa.....but then realised that I left half my money in the hotel room! Agghhh....frustrations! Dora and Malika offer to pay, but after what seemed like a long stay, I came to my senses (I'd rather pay $65 for the SA shirt online than $100 at the store)...this store clerk tried to help us, and Malika claimed that she wasn't mad after all the time she spent with us because she had a 'thing' for me, haha......anyways, I wore my belt :D at the store and got something accomplished :D.....on our way to dinner, I was feeling really dehydrated, and some people asked me if Iw was alright (being the person that I am, I said ya with a puckered up face)...Mrs Silver and Mlle Bilodeau were really concerned when they discovered that I had fallen 100 or so feet behind the rest of the pack...after finishing off my bottle of water that I got from the hotel, I suddenly perked up, and joined the rest of the pack :D....after another enjoyable meal at Le Café de la Paix, we go to the Improvisation Mixte à la Quebécoise, which was an improv game.....the guys, Jean-Pierre and Mathieu were really funny (Madeline, Lucy, Josh, Sam, Mariel and Chris were on stage.....and Mlle. Bilodeau got to tell her story of how she got "twigie" as her nickname....which was totally mocked by the two improv guys)...after that, the saying "je suis un gangsta!" became really popular (Mrs Silver said that I had been turned into a totally different person!)...anyways, after that we enjoyed our last night in Quebec City by playing some more games back at the hotel :D....
The senior girls were quite entertaining as well (Monica and Mariel wearing the banana costume :D) and really added noise what was already an exhilarating trip! Entering the freshmen girl's rooms itself was an adventure...I had to knock 5 times...wait for it to be returned with 2 knocks....then say, "Sumantro is sexy!" Of course I made a total fool of myself whilst the others in the hallway passed by, but it was really fun! I added flavour to it by waving my arms all over the place.....yup, it was awesome
During the course of the trip, Monica and I tended to one of the girls, Haley, who unfortunately was really lonely throughout the trip for several reasons...so she tagged along with me, and though I was uneasy at first, the feeling at the end of the day of knowing that you've made a person happy is truely priceless...
And really, to be honest, so much happened on this trip that one could write a long short-story about it. However, it was nothing short of outstanding and everything that happened to me on this trip will be with me for a long, long time :D
I'll end on this sensational note.......je suis un gangsta!
